Fernwood Soft Tree Fern Substrate is derived from native New Zealand tree ferns and impresses with its soft, sponge-like texture as well as an exceptionally high moisture retention capacity. It provides ideal conditions for healthy and vigorous plant growth.

This high-quality growing substrate is excellent for a variety of plants, particularly epiphytes, orchids, and ferns. Trials conducted in New Zealand with Phalaenopsis, Miltoniopsis, Paphiopedilum, and Phragmipedium show impressive results: stronger plants, enhanced root growth, and improved flowering. Additionally, maintenance is reduced as repotting is needed less frequently – often a simple top dressing is sufficient. The need for fertilizers can also be decreased.
