Emis SMC-IC4 Stepper motor control 12 V, 48 V

The SMC-IC4 stepper motor controller can accommodate four power output stages. Output stages are available for phase currents ranging from 1A to 4A. Bipolar stepper motors with two or four phases can be connected. Depending on motor power, duty cycle, and the set standby current, the use of a fan for cooling the motor output stages is recommended. A DC power supply with a voltage of at least 12V DC and a maximum of 48V DC is required. Communication between the PC and the SMC-IC4 occurs via a USB interface (Type B). Upon first connecting the USB cable, a virtual COM port is created on the PC, and a COM port number is assigned. All data transfers take place through this virtual COM port. A terminal program can be used to control the SMC-IC4. The digital inputs can receive switching or control signals with a level of 0-24V DC. Reference switches are connected to inputs 1-4. Programmable functions can be stored in the existing non-volatile memory for all eight inputs. There are 7 transistor outputs available with a maximum voltage of 24V DC and a load current of 100mA. The two-digit LED display is used to indicate various system states. For standalone applications, a non-volatile memory for 28 programs, each with 64kB, is available. If larger programs are to be implemented, a micro SD card can be used. A corresponding slot is available on the SMC-IC4. The two buttons allow for settings or selections in standalone applications (operation without a PC). If more than 4 stepper motors are to be operated, multiple SMC-IC4 control boards can be cascaded. The cable to connect the individual boards is included in the delivery. The first board is connected to the PC and takes on a master function.
