Product details
Fire protection switches, arc fault detection devices (AFDD), reduce the risk of fire due to defects in electrical installations. They disconnect the affected part of the system when serial and parallel arc faults occur. According to DIN VDE 0100-420, they are required in sleeping and living areas of daycare centers, nursing homes, and barrier-free apartments, as well as in fire-hazardous workplaces. The DAFDD 1 compactly combines the detection of arc faults with line and residual current protection. Contact status indicators and the residual current trip indicator provide a quick overview. The RCBO part offers protection against type A residual currents, as well as short circuits and overloads, independent of the mains voltage. Switches with a C trip characteristic are optimized for circuits with high inrush or peak currents. Switches in KV design are less sensitive to short-term impulse-like fault currents due to their response delay. As short-time delayed and simultaneously thunderstorm-proof devices, they increase system availability and can generally be used instead of a standard switch, as the short-time delay does not affect the additional protection (personal protection).
