The Maranta, also known as the arrowroot, is one of the most decorative houseplants available. Its leaves can reach a length of 12 cm and are variably spotted, veined, and patterned. The Maranta does not require much care, and if a few tips are followed, it will delight its owner for years with its appearance. The Maranta needs a lot of light but cannot tolerate direct sunlight, as this will quickly cause its beautiful leaves to fade. Therefore, the optimal location is not on a windowsill, especially not at a south-facing window. In summer, the arrowroot enjoys temperatures between 20 and 25 °C; in winter, it can be a bit cooler, but temperatures should not drop below 15 °C. If this happens, it could be fatal for the decorative houseplant.

Maranta Care – Tips: Watering: A Maranta should only be watered moderately; standing water must be avoided, but the root ball should always be nicely moist. The best water for watering a Maranta is rainwater. Fertilizing: From April to September, during its growing season, the Maranta should receive some liquid fertilizer mixed with the watering every four weeks. Repotting: If the pot becomes too small, the Maranta should definitely be repotted. The best time for this is spring.
