The evergreen Calamondin belongs to the citrus family and is a hybrid of a mandarin and a kumquat. It is often referred to as Panama orange. In spring, it blooms with white flowers, but its real show begins in midsummer and lasts until September, when the production of its orange fruits is at its peak. This plant is an intelligent solution for a small but sunny terrace and is a must-have for a conservatory!
The Calamondin (Citrofortunella microcarpa) produces white, fragrant flowers from April to July. Decorative orange fruits appear starting in July.
Citrofortunella grows in a bushy form, typically reaching a height of 1.5 to 2 meters and a width of 1 to 1.5 meters. It is a slow-growing plant.
Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in between. It thrives best in normal garden soil in a sunny location. A frost-free wintering at temperatures between 5 to 10 °C is required.
The pot has a diameter of 18 cm.
