Blueberry Bluecrop
60 cmProduct details
These little fruits are hard to miss, as the 'Bluecrop' blueberry features large, dark blue berries. The flesh is firm, making the berry durable. The taste is sweet-tart and very aromatic. 'Bluecrop' provides you with a rich harvest for four weeks.
A slightly acidic soil is ideal for this blueberry. You should regularly remove older shoots to encourage more vigorous fruit growth. Blueberries have shallow roots, and the soil can be covered with bark mulch.
Vaccinium corymbosum 'Bluecrop' grows bushy, wide, and shrub-like, typically reaching a height of 1 - 1.2 m and a width of up to 0.8 - 1 m. It usually grows 20 - 30 cm per year. The plant is a small shrub.
The 'Bluecrop' blueberry is deciduous. Its lanceolate leaves are dark green and turn a magnificent orange-yellow in autumn. The 'Bluecrop' blueberry produces light pink flowers from May to June.
Planting: February - November. Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in between. The 'Bluecrop' blueberry exhibits good frost hardiness. Nutrient-rich garden soil, kept adequately moist in sunny to partially shaded locations, ensures lush growth and a bountiful harvest.
Tip:
- Water this plant only with lime-free water. Rainwater is particularly suitable for this purpose.
- Use slow-release fertilizer in spring. This gradually and continuously supplies nutrients, ensuring the plant is evenly nourished over a longer period.
