Block resistor wire is made of a high-quality constantan alloy, ensuring that resistance values remain virtually unchanged regardless of temperature. It features a firmly adhered oxide surface coating that withstands temperature changes and protects against further oxidation under continuous stress while maintaining high ductility for easy processing. This wire can be used for soft soldering, brazing, or welding, as well as for applications such as the manufacture of technical resistors, shunt resistors, or other general laboratory aids. The resistance alloy complies with DIN 46461 (CuNi44). Specific electrical resistance is 0.49 ((Ω x mm)/m). The average temperature constant of electrical resistance at 20 °C is 0.00004 - 0.00008. The average linear coefficient of thermal expansion between 20 °C and 100 °C is 13.5 x 10^-6. The melting point ranges from 1220 °C to 1270 °C, and the maximum permissible wire temperature is up to 600 °C.
