Unlike the common onion, the winter chives are perennial, and only the leaves are harvested. The plant forms clumps with closely spaced shoots that sprout even earlier in spring than chives. The continuously growing greenery can be harvested almost all year round. Tip: Winter chives can also be grown in planters (at least 10 liters).
