This leek variety is characterized by its very good frost resistance, making it suitable for overwintering in the garden bed. Leeks are among the more demanding crops in home gardens. A warm cultivation temperature of 20 to 25 °C is important to prevent premature bolting. Transplant the seedlings when they are about 20 cm tall. Winter leeks can also be sown directly into a finely crumbled seedbed outdoors. Tip: By hilling up the plants, longer stalks with a higher white portion are formed.
