C-clamps are used when high clamping forces are required with as uniform clamping spans as possible, primarily in metal and steel construction. The C-clamp is considered the original form of the screw clamp. Various materials have been used in its production. There were once versions made entirely of wood. Today, models with forged arms and VC clamps in proven BESSEY all-steel quality are available on the market. What makes the VC clamp special is that its arm is made from original BESSEY profile steel produced in-house, tempered, and galvanically zinc-coated. This results in a significantly higher tensile strength compared to cast versions.
