Product details
This brake fluid for hydraulic brake and clutch systems in motor vehicles is particularly well-suited for brake systems with electronically controlled hydraulic components due to its low viscosity at extreme cold temperatures. This is essential for rapid modulation of brake pressure at the braked wheel, especially in systems designed to prevent oversteering or understeering of the vehicle, known as Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The viscosity at –40° C is a maximum of 700 mm²/s, which is only about half as high as the corresponding values of many other commercially available DOT 4 fluids, thus meeting the requirements of ISO specification 4925 for brake fluids with low-temperature viscosity (Class 6). The brake fluid consists of polyethylene glycol ethers, polyethylene glycols, their boric acid esters, amines, additives, and stabilizers. The ATE DOT 4 brake fluid SL.6 meets and exceeds the requirements of brake fluid standards FMVSS No. 116 – DOT 4, SAE J1704, and ISO 4925, Class 6. The ATE brake fluid SL.6 can be mixed with other brake fluids that meet the specifications ISO 4925 Class 6, DOT 5.1, or DOT 4. However, optimal ESP functionality at very low temperatures is best ensured with fluids meeting the ISO 4925, Class 6 specification. Product features: - Consistency: homogeneous, clear - Color: yellow - Boiling point: min. 265° C - Wet boiling point: min. 175° C - Viscosity at –40° C: max. 700 mm²/s - Viscosity at +100° C: 1.7 to 2.3 mm²/s - Maximum water content: 0.20%.
