Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) according to IEC/EN 62606 and IEC/EN 60898-1 provides protection against series and parallel arc faults, overcurrent protection (overload or short circuit), surge protection (only for internal AFDD), and protection against electrically ignited fires in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-420. Mandatory application areas according to DIN VDE 01000 are in single-phase AC systems with In ≤ 16 A in sleeping or living areas of homes and day care facilities for children, disabled or elderly individuals, or in barrier-free apartments, as well as in rooms or locations with fire risks, predominantly made of combustible materials. The use of AFDDs is recommended in rooms with sleeping accommodations, rooms or locations with fire-spreading structures, and final circuits with high connection power. Generally, the AFDD is also recommended to enhance fire protection against electrically ignited fires. LED indicator to identify the cause of tripping. Top or bottom feeding is flexible, and cross-wiring to RCDs in the rear terminal area is possible. System accessories can be mounted on the pro M compact. Rated breaking capacity according to IEC/EN 60898-1 Icn=6kA. AFDD+MCB S-ARC1 is single-pole protected and double-pole switching.
