Product details

The AF38ZB 3-pole contactors meet the latest standards for rail vehicles and enable installation in passenger or driver cabins of trains that frequently operate in tunnels or underground. They are primarily used for controlling 3-phase motors and circuits up to 690 V AC and 220 V DC. The compact design enhances installation efficiency, requiring 15% less width (without spacing) and withstanding temperatures from -40 °C to +70 °C. They comply with all major standards for rail vehicles: IEC 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-5-1, IEC 60077-1/-2, as well as the applicable parts of the EN 50155 standards, with shock and vibration resistance meeting IEC 61373 Category 1, Class B. The contactors achieve high ratings for fire and smoke behavior and comply with the European standard EN 45545-2 (HL2, HL3 hazard levels) in group assembly. They also reduce the energy consumption of trains through lighter devices that require 68% less coil energy during operation. The electronic coil interface handles large DC voltage fluctuations, including multiple Uc DC control voltages used for battery supply, and accepts sinusoidal AC 50/60 Hz control supplies within the voltage range of Ucmin to Ucmax. The maximum permissible AC 50/60 Hz control voltage must not be exceeded (see technical data). A wide range of auxiliary contact blocks is available for front and side mounting.
