Product details
Manual motor starters, magnetic only, are electromechanical protection devices for the main circuit, complying with the latest railway rolling stock standards. They allow installation in passenger or driver cabins for trains frequently operating in tunnels or undergrounds. These devices are primarily used to switch motors manually ON/OFF and provide fuse-less protection against short circuits. Fuse-less protection with a manual motor starter saves costs and space while ensuring a quick reaction under short-circuit conditions by switching off the motor within milliseconds. Fuse-less starter combinations are set up together with contactors and overload relays. They are designed in accordance with the applicable parts of the IEC 60077 standard, with shock and vibration withstand conforming to IEC 61373 (category 1, class B), and are usable according to the European fire and smoke safety standard EN 45545-2.
