We would have to go through 2 doors in the basement with the Thule to get outside, these are 80cm wide as standard and the Thule is also 80cm wide... what are the experiences of other buyers with a similar situation?

Hello, from our experience, 80cm door is too tight without unclipping the main wheels, also because the trailer is quite bulky for indoor maneuvers. 
I would say 90cm door is the bare minimum to be confortable, especially for daily use.
