Do you have to pedal with your own power or does it have an e-drive like my e-bike?
No, you don't have to. You can leave it in the corner like an e-bike.
The implement can only brake actively, so it must be accelerated with pure muscle power. This is likely to be the case with most systems sold as an attachment. This is because the freewheel in the cassette prevents power from being transmitted back from the trainer. Pure passive movement therapy is therefore not possible.
