A sustainable raw material that has not only protected generations of people from the cold, but was also a valuable means of trade and still is among mountain peoples. The developers at Alpina have created something unique in collaboration with lavalan, a Bavarian wool production company near Dinkelsbühl: Prolan. Wool that protects. Prolan is sheep's wool that has been processed in such a way that its cushioning properties go beyond the functionality of conventional protectors. What sounds incredible at first, has been tested in numerous tests and confirmed by the TÜV. The new Alpina protector with Prolan meets the standard 1621-2 Level 1. Prolan is an innovation that has not been seen in the sports industry for a long time.

Despite its slim profile and lightweight design, the FlowPad knee protector is certified to Level 2. This means it easily absorbs medium to strong impacts, ensuring your knee doesn’t hurt after a crash. The Sas-Tec pad is removable, allowing for easy washing after a mud run. The material is breathable and comfortable to wear even on longer rides. The protector pad is held in place by a tightly woven, abrasion-resistant aramid outer layer. An additional TPU layer reinforces the construction and is designed to allow for better sliding without snagging in the event of a fall.
