Hoverboards

The hoverboard as used by Marty McFly in the Hollywood film "Back to the Future II" will probably remain a dream for a while yet. Self-balancing boards, as the two-wheeled electrically powered rolling boards are actually called, have now adopted the name hoverboard. The self-balancing rolling boards are also known as e-boards. E-boards include variants such as roller skates, unicycles and stand-up scooters. They are all controlled by the rider's weight shift. In Switzerland, hoverboards, e-roller skates, e-unicycles and stand-up scooters are only permitted on private property. Participation in road traffic is not permitted.
