Zipp's Total System Efficiency (TSE) design approach gives the 808 Firecrest new features, such as a significant weight reduction of over 300 grams compared to the previous model. Additionally, the wheel has been developed with a hookless and tubeless rim profile, as well as an inner width of 23 mm. This is ideal for using wider tires at lower pressures to improve rolling resistance and cornering grip. In fact, TSE addresses the four main obstacles to speed: aerodynamic drag, gravity, rolling resistance, and vibration losses.
