Product details

Yonex nylon shuttles are precision products manufactured in Japan. They have similar flight characteristics to a natural feather ball. They are available in different qualities and speeds.
For halls with poor visibility and/or a bright background they recommend yellow shuttles. Normally the average speed (blue) is used in Switzerland. Other speeds are only permitted or recommended at higher altitudes (e. g. in the Engadine or in the Jura) or in extreme weather conditions (temperature, humidity). In badminton the speed of the shuttle is defined by the rules or by the referee (if available). It is only altered by the external geographic or meteorological circumstances mentioned. Playing level or wishes of the players play no role. At least in terms of control technology. Of course, at lower levels, however, it is often played with slow shuttles, because this way the shuttle is easier to control. Or with fast shuttles, because they can be used to strike from baseline to baseline. The number next to the name "Mavis" indicates the quality of the shuttles. The higher the number, the better the product. There are very different qualities of plastic shuttles: The Mavis-10 is a simple shuttle with a hard rubber head. It is available in white or yellow packs of three, each in medium speed (blue). The Mavis-350 is the world's best-selling nylon shuttle - the world's standard plastic shuttle. Always in the traditional six-pack. With a real cork head. It is available in white or yellow, in three speeds each: Fast=red, medium=blue, slow=green. The Mavis-350 yellow-blue is the bestseller in the range of plastic shuttles. The Mavis-500 has an even better quality, flies cleaner and lasts longer. The Mavis-500 is only available in white, but also in the three different speeds. Always in a six-pack, too. The Mavis-2000 was introduced in 2009. This is better plastic shuttle on the market in terms of durability and quietness in flight. Six packs, only white, and also available in the three speeds. Regarding the speed of the shuttle: There are "slow (= green)","medium (= blue)" and "fast (= red)". These terms for the speed of shuttles apply only to nylon shuttles from Yonex (partially these terms have been adopted from competitors). For natural spring shuttles, single-digit numbers provide information about the speed of the shuttles, not colours). Mavis-10 and Mavis-350 are also available as yellow shuttles. This is because they are better visible in front of a bright and / or diffuse background. In the meantime they are even used more often than the traditional white shuttles.
