Waldhausen - The goal of founder Anton Waldhausen was to guarantee exceptional quality. As early as the 1850s, he established a specialty store in Cologne and supplied European noble families with high-quality saddles and harnesses beyond the city limits. The "Waldhausen Saddle" gained widespread recognition as a product of the highest quality.

As a visionary businessman, his son Henri Waldhausen expanded the range of harnesses and saddles to include exclusive leather and luggage goods. By 1895, Waldhausen had become the largest retail store for saddlery and leather goods in Germany. The marble and glass facade was considered the most beautiful in Cologne at that time.

The success of Waldhausen allowed it to become the court supplier to various princely families and royal houses. During World War II, all facilities of Waldhausen were completely destroyed. Ernst Albrecht Assenmacher Senior rebuilt the company and refocused production on equestrian sports items. Under his son Ernst Albrecht Assenmacher Junior, the company experienced massive expansion. Waldhausen became a leading international provider of equestrian products and gained worldwide recognition. In 1969, the production and distribution of Moll saddles were acquired. Since 1972 and to this day, Waldhausen has been the official supplier to the German Olympic Committee for Equestrian Sports.
