Waldhausen - The aim of company founder Anton Waldhausen was to guarantee exceptional quality. As early as the 1850s, he set up a specialized shop in Cologne and supplied European aristocratic families beyond the city limits with high-quality saddles and harnesses. As a product of the highest quality, the "Waldhausen saddle" became widely recognized.

As a far-sighted businessman, his son Henri Waldhausen expanded the range of harnesses and saddles to include exclusive leather and luggage goods. By 1895, Waldhausen was already the largest saddlery and leather goods retailer in Germany. The marble and glass façade was considered the most beautiful in Cologne at the time.

The success of the Waldhausen company made it a supplier to the courts of various royal families and royal houses. During the Second World War, all of Waldhausen's facilities were completely destroyed. Ernst Albrecht Assenmacher Senior rebuilt the company and once again focused production on equestrian products. Under his son Ernst Albrecht Assenmacher Junior, the company underwent massive expansion. Waldhausen became a leading international supplier of equestrian products and gained worldwide recognition. In 1969, the production and distribution of Moll saddles was taken over. Since 1972, Waldhausen has been the official supplier of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee.

Today, under the management of Klaus Reinken and Michael Manefeld, Waldhausen is an internationally active wholesaler throughout the equestrian world.
