Troy Lee Designs A1 - All-Mountain helmet in race design with MIPS rotational brain protection. The reinforced helmet shell of the A1, made from polycarbonate with an integrated EPS inner shell, extends over the sides and the back of the head, providing ideal protection in the event of a fall. The MIPS protection system reduces the rotational forces that would act upon the head during an impact. The adjustable visor is held and regulated by anodized aluminum screws. A three-position adjustable retention system allows you to customize the fit to your individual needs, accommodating eyewear as well. The one-piece inner lining is removable and washable. Its antimicrobial, moisture-wicking material ensures a dry and comfortable wearing experience in the helmet, even in heat. Additionally, the 8 intake and 8 exhaust vents allow air to flow through the helmet, noticeably cooling the head when temperatures rise.

InMolding refers to a technology that optimizes the weight, ventilation, and stability of the helmet. The outer shell is bonded with the impact-absorbing EPS material during the manufacturing process to form a single unit.

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a fall protection system that includes a low-friction layer beneath the helmet padding, which reduces the rotational forces transmitted to the brain upon impact. This layer allows the head to move 10-15 mm relative to the helmet in all directions during a fall, redirecting energies and forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain. MIPS helmets are designed to protect the brain from oblique impacts, as rotational forces occur at an angle during a fall, which can be transmitted to the brain and lead to brain injuries. MIPS can reduce both rotational movement and the risk of brain damage.
