The Shimano Ultegra FC-R8000 HOLLOWTECH II crankset showcases the strong four-arm design that carries the genes of the Dura-Ace R9100. Despite its enormous stiffness, which ensures optimal power transfer, the new R8000 crank is even lighter than its predecessor, weighing only 674 g (50-34T). The spacing of the chainrings has been revised to meet the demands of increasingly popular road bikes with disc brakes. This creates more clearance for the frame and significantly improves shifting performance in conjunction with the new derailleurs.

The large chainrings provide maximum stiffness with minimal weight thanks to Shimano's HOLLOWGLIDE technology, which features a hollow structure. This stiffness directly benefits the rider through high front shifting performance. The R8000 cranks are available in the gearing option of 50-34.
