Product details

Soft and precise shifting has always been a hallmark of Shimano cassettes. In the latest generation of Hyperglide cassettes, the sprockets have been positioned in such a way that, especially when shifting to a larger sprocket, the chain runs extremely smoothly and with minimal vibration. With the SLX M7100 cassette, Shimano introduces Hyperglide+. Thanks to this technology, shifting into a harder gear is now just as smooth and, compared to the CS-M7000 cassette, is a third faster. In the construction of the cassette, Shimano uses a mix of steel and aluminum for the sprockets. While the ten smaller sprockets, which have the least chain engagement and highest load, are made of steel, the two larger sprockets are made of aluminum. This load-dependent material use leads to even wear of the cassette and also extends the lifespan of the chain. The cassette is held together by an aluminum spider.
