It was first introduced with the 105 group from the 5800 series and is a so-called Super Narrow HG-X 11-speed chain. Unlike many 10-speed predecessors, the CN-HG 600 is no longer direction-dependent, making installation significantly easier. The CN-HG600 chain, with Shimano's new SIL-TEC coating, ensures minimal friction values, achieving maximum durability under all conditions. This is a positive feature that is also felt in the wallet. To clarify: SIL-TEC is Shimano's new, extremely low-friction surface treatment. This SIL-TEC technology is a superior, modern coating process that significantly improves system performance through the use of embedded fluorine particles. SIL-TEC products have been shown to run smoother and with less friction, resulting in less wear under all conditions. The CN-HG 600 chain has been developed in conjunction with other shifting components for optimal power transfer. Despite the significant reduction in material (narrower width), it maintains the same durability as current 10-speed chains. Additionally, the universal use of the chain with all Shimano 11-speed systems is very practical.
