The Flex elbow/knee protectors for youth are for all riders who need full coverage with confidence-inspiring protection. They are designed like the Flex Knee Pads for adults, with an open back and double layer protection - with the Flex Pads you are well protected. The Flex Elbow can also be used as a youth knee pad - a coincidence that happened at Interbike when a number of customers tried on our youth Flex knee pad, thinking it was an elbow pad. They all loved it - and so the manufacturer decided to test it, refine it and offer it in full size as an adult elbow and youth knee. The middle strap provides a comfortable and consistent fit on the upper arm/lower leg and a second strap over the forearm/calf muscle keeps everything where it belongs. Maintaining air circulation and reducing perspiration is an important feature for pads. Flex pads have an open back area to allow sweat to evaporate. Two protective layers covered by a tough outer material provide a flexible and durable pad. They are shaped to fit in the riding position. You will forget the pads are there.
