The popular Joker table tennis table from Schildkröt is the entry-level model with excellent value for money. The Joker is ideal for leisure games at home in the basement, garage, etc. The table top is made of 19 mm chipboard. Chipboard is also used for competition tables and offers a much better ball rebound than all other outer boards, such as aluminium composite boards or melamine resin boards. However, chipboard is not water-resistant and should therefore not get wet. There is nothing wrong with playing in a dry garden, but the table must then be stored away from moisture. The lower black stand with folding mechanism is made of 25 mm powder-coated steel. At the bottom are four large diameter (125 mm) double castors, which are easy to move on uneven floors, with two of them swiveling to make manoeuvring easier. The folding mechanism is secured by a twist handle locking system that has been tested to prevent accidental unfolding of the table. An access guard is fitted to the side to prevent children from slipping between the panels and getting trapped in the event of accidental unfolding. The Joker can also be used to raise just one half of the table top; the ball return function allows children to play on their own.
