Salewa Cristallo Warm Alpine Merino Responsive short sleeve baselayer

The Cristallo is our short-sleeved, warm, moisture-wicking and skin-friendly winter baselayer. It naturally inhibits odour build-up and is perfect for intensive days in the mountains. It takes its name from Monte Cristallo, the striking mountain north-east of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Moisture-wicking, thermoregulating, comfortable
The Alpine Merino Responsive fabric is a hybrid blend of 78% merino wool and 22% polyamide. It transports moisture away from the body and dries quickly. The synthetic fibres are enhanced with our patented Responsive technology. It is based on a special blend of natural, thermoreactive minerals that recycle the body's far infrared energy (FIR) and release it slowly. This leads to improved performance and faster recovery and also ensures that you stay warmer for longer. These benefits are maintained throughout the life of the fabric as Responsive is an integral part of the fabric and will not wash out. Alpine Merino Responsive is also bluesign® certified.

Innovative knit construction
The Cristallo is made using a special knitting process in which a superfine merino yarn is spun around a nylon core. This process makes the resulting fibre not only stronger and fluffier, but also 30% lighter than comparable base layer fibres. The high polyamide content also improves the fibre's durability and stretch properties. The base layer has a body-hugging fit with a round neckline and integrated gusset in the underarm area for greater freedom of movement. It also comes without any irritating seams.
