The Salewa Committed symbol identifies products that meet strict internal criteria at Salewa regarding environmental and social sustainability. A Salewa product must fulfill two mandatory criteria as well as at least one additional criterion.

The mandatory criteria include:

1. Chemically tested: For more than 90% of the product's weight, at least one of the following criteria is met: a) The main material (or the entire product) has been externally chemically tested according to the Oberalp Chemicals Directive, and b) The main material is bluesign certified.

2. Monitoring of social standards in production: The second mandatory criterion is compliance with social standards and appropriate working conditions at a production facility, which are verified by external audits.

The additional criteria may include upcycling, recycling, specific material compositions, PFC-free finishes, or down sourced from responsible farms, depending on the product.
