purchased this productDirect comparison with a "Davoser" - Fast and comfortable on steep and winding stretches - Slow on flat sections
Direct comparison with a classic "Davoser" after various 1-on-1 races:
The Davoser pulls away at the start. Its narrow metal runners do a good job here; due to the large contact surface, you accelerate much slower with the Snowracer. But as soon as you reach a certain speed, you have to use your feet to correct the Davoser, which slows you down a bit. This is where the Snowracer's steering comes in handy. As long as there are no tight bends, you don't have to brake at all. The driving experience at high speed is unbelievable. No snow (or even ice) in your face from braking. You sit stable and can fully concentrate on the overtaking manoeuvre to come. I prefer to sing the sound of Mario Kart when you have the "star". Dütütü - dütü - tütü - tü.... But that's subjective. Out of the bend, you can keep up the pace optimally. However, as soon as flat sections come, the Davos comes closer again - the snow racer brakes massively faster. You can then stand up on the skids and propel yourself with one leg, but you'll quickly be out of breath and will most likely be laughed at by the (comfortably seated) driver of the Davoser. Especially if you have sung the Mario melody beforehand.
Whether you win a race thus depends on the track. If it is steep and full of bends, the snow racer is unbeatable. If it has flat sections, however, victory is not certain.
Notes:
- I do not recommend racing, of course. And if you do, then only with the appropriate protective equipment.
- For longer rides, it is advisable to mount a seat cushion for the sake of your backside. It's no different with the Davos.
- I'm 1.87 tall -> The brakes are practically unusable for me because I can hardly reach them with my feet.
- The runners get scratched over time, but at least they can be ordered separately.Pro

Assembly was easy. Workmanship good. Drives very well. The steering is a positive surprise. Brakes are practical and OK, but in soft snow it's better to brake directly with the feet if it gets tight.

purchased this productSimply super
I got my Stiga sled as a teenager about 20 years ago and it is still in use and I can still buy spare parts for it. The new one here is actually still the same as it was 20 years ago and that's a huge advantage.
When you sit on the sled with a child it can get a little uncomfortable. My wife also complains about a too hard seat. Who has trained his ass but can sit well without getting bruises :DPro
- Spare parts
- Rides in soft snow
Contra
- uncomfortable
- to 2t rather scarce
