The Universal Bit combines probing pressure and leverage, making it ideal for those who need a little more control. The blue soft iron mouthpiece oxidizes easily, creating a warm feeling and sweet taste in the horse's mouth, helping him accept the bit. Please note that the blue color fades with use, which is normal.

Also known as a continental bit, it works by lifting the bit into the horse's mouth in the same manner as a traditional gag, but without the same severity. Probing pressure can be applied using the lower rings. This bit is a softer option than the three-ring Dutch gag, making it ideal for cavaliers who need a little more control when jumping or doing rapid work, but don't require massive pressure on the neck.

Measurements according to our size guide for this bit are as follows:
4.5" & 5" - A=15mm & B=115mm
5.5" - A=15mm & B=130mm
