Premier Equine Brass Waterford Bit
Product details
The Hanging Cheek is a fixed cheek bit that promotes flexion, making it especially useful for horses with a high head carriage. It can also benefit horses that are unsure of the bit due to its limited movement in the mouth.
The Waterford bit consists of a series of ball-shaped links, allowing for complete mobility in all directions. It is particularly popular for addressing issues such as leaning, bit grip, and jaw set. When the horse attempts to grab the bit, the mouthpiece collapses, providing no rigid surface to hold onto.
Brass alloy is created by alloying copper with a harder metal, resulting in a warm, durable material that is ideal for horse bits as it encourages salivation and is more palatable for the horse. This Waterford with hanging cheeks is perfect for stronger horses that may also have a high head carriage. For optimal effectiveness, it should be worn 1/4" to 1/2" wider than standard.
Measurements:
In accordance with our size guide, the A and B measurements for this bit are:
A = 17mm
B = 110mm
Note: The C measurement is taken between the first links of the chain at each end and does not correspond to the total length of the mouthpiece.
Brass horse bits are warm, durable, and encourage the horse to salivate while accepting the bit easily. They are ideal for a variety of horses, especially those that need encouragement to bite and accept the bit. Pair your horse bit with one of our anatomical bridles.
