The VPD System Lite Knee is part of the new System Lite family, which offers an extremely high level of ventilation and comfort while providing Level 1 protection. The effective ventilation system, combined with the perfect fit, provides every mountain biker with an advanced solution for knee protection—especially during long rides and for all-day wear in the saddle. The VPD (viscoelastic polymer dough) product line offers extreme shock absorption, giving POC a completely new approach to the development of protectors. VPD is highly shock-absorbing, comfortable, and adapts to the body. To create a personalized fit and due to its high level of protection and ability to switch from soft to hard upon impact, you don’t have to choose between safety and flexibility. Many protectors are lightweight but may not be optimal for shock absorption. Some can handle a shock with good absorption, but a second impact on the protector transmits a much higher amount of energy to the user, with a third impact transmitting even more, and so on. VPD material maintains the same high absorption level, which is an important characteristic for POC, as they believe that a protector must withstand multiple impacts during a fall and throughout its lifespan.
