The ounce (Oz) measurement indicates the weight of the boxing glove and thus the thickness of the padding: 10Oz is suitable for competitions and athletes up to approximately 70kg, 12Oz is a good all-round size for heavy bag and pad training, and 14-16Oz are suitable for sparring and partner drills.
