Product details

Light and comfortable for challenging ski tours. Ultimate comfort at the summit is provided by the Berrino Hooded Jacket Softshell from Ortovox! With its ergonomic, close-fitting cut, this sporty softshell accompanies you during freeriding and sweat-inducing high-altitude tours. The Merino Airsolation material is lightweight and athletic, designed for high sporting demands. On the inside, Tasmanian mulesing-free merino wool ensures insulation and breathable comfort. The outer layer is particularly robust and abrasion-resistant due to the wind- and weatherproof polyamide. The 2-way stretch material and ergonomic cut guarantee high freedom of movement. Naturally, this fine jacket is PFC-free.

Intelligently placed features with a focus on the essentials: The self-regulating, helmet-compatible hood with an anatomically optimized cut wraps protectively around the head and neck area. Elastic cuffs and hem keep the wind out, while the integrated, concealed thumb loops keep the sleeves in place. The two spacious front pockets with zippers are compatible with backpacks, and there’s an additional bonded upper arm pocket.

Key highlights: high breathability and abrasion resistance, maximum freedom of movement through 2-way stretch material, quick-drying, lightweight, wind- and water-repellent, PFC-free, and made with mulesing-free merino wool.

Ortovox proves once again that quality has its price. At 240 euros, this jacket - the only one made in Europe - is the top priced jacket tested, but it also delivers a great performance. Although it doesn't come close to the lightweight models from Rab and Patagonia in terms of softness, it offers a much wider range of uses thanks to the effective impregnation of the robust, highly wind-repellent stretch...
