Product details
The Maxxis Rekon is a very voluminous tire that you can use for daily rides, eagerly tackling trails in the woods and shredding on all-mountain terrain, while also handling rougher ground with ease. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for tubeless riding with sealant but can also be used with a tube like all TR tires. Maxxis primarily recommends the Rekon for the rear wheel, where it pairs best with a Forekaster in the front, but it can also be combined with coarser tread patterns.
EXO Protection: This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tires. It is tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible, ensuring that the tire's performance remains impressively good.
Dual Compound: Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. Maxxis arranges the compounds based on the desired characteristics of the tires.
Wide Trail Casing: The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape for today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and take on a too-angular shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm but perform excellently on all rims with an inner measurement between 30 and 39 mm.
