La Sportiva equips the shoe with a textile upper and a GORE-TEX® membrane. This construction allows for a relatively low weight and complete weather resistance of the shoe. The special lacing system evenly distributes tension across the entire instep, ensuring pressure-free comfort. To protect your foot and the material from damage in rocky terrain, La Sportiva has incorporated a protective cap in the toe area and a stabilizing chassis in the Akyra II GTX. The FriXion® Red sole is made from a rubber blend that offers a good mix of grip and durability. Functional support is provided by the Impact Brake System™ (IBS), which enhances braking power during descents, guarantees maximum traction during ascents, and reduces impact forces upon landing with specially arranged lugs.
