La Sportiva Akyra II

Looks like a trainers, but will win you over with its off-road capabilities: the Akyra II GTX Men is a convincing hybrid of hiking and trail running shoe that is characterised by its snug fit and grip. La Sportiva has equipped the shoe with a textile upper and a GORE-TEX membrane. This construction enables the shoe's relatively low weight and absolute weather resistance. The lacing system distributes the tension evenly over the entire instep so that you benefit from pressure-free comfort. To protect the foot and the material from damage in scree, La Sportiva has fitted a protective toe cap and a stabilising chassis to the Akyra II GTX. The FriXion Red sole is made from a rubber compound that offers a good mix of grip and durability. Functional support is provided by the Impact Brake System (IBS), which supports the braking force in the downhill movement, enables optimum traction in the uphill movement and reduces the impact loads when stepping on the ground with its arranged studs. In short: the Akyra II GTX is made for active backpacking tours - and is also vegan thanks to the absence of leather and animal adhesives.
