The Kuikma PR100 is a racket specifically designed for children aged 5 to 8 years. It is ultra-lightweight and soft to reduce vibrations. The round shape and grip-oriented balance provide good control. The surface is made of fiberglass with a Full Eva Concept inner core, allowing for a larger sweet spot for greater forgiveness on errors. Weighing approximately 265 grams, it ensures high comfort.
Padel originated in Mexico in the late 1960s and quickly spread to Spain and Argentina, as well as to all Spanish-speaking countries in South America. Currently, padel is the second most practiced sport in Spain, behind football and ahead of tennis. There are 8 million players worldwide. Padel is played in doubles (two against two). Two balls are allowed for the serve, which is executed from below as an underhand serve diagonally. A bounce is permitted, and the ball must hit the ground before touching any part of the court. A ball can be hit against a wall after the bounce and can jump out of the court to be caught outside. The scoring system is similar to tennis.
Beginners should use special beginner balls that are softer and slower to help learn the trajectories. Special shoes prevent slipping on padel courts, which are usually made of artificial grass or sand. Taking lessons can save time and help replicate movements familiar from tennis or squash.
The racket is an exclusive innovation from Decathlon. It is made from a single piece of EVA foam, with the hitting surface covered in composite fibers. The expanded EVA foam area increases the centralization zone of the hitting surface, thereby optimizing error tolerance for better ball control.
