Microporous ceramic with firmly anchored silver reliably retains suspended particles as well as all harmful bacteria and parasites such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia. Silver quartz gravel inside acts as a disinfectant and controls recontamination through outflow during prolonged standstill periods. The Katadyn ceramic produces fresh drinking water without the use of chemicals.
