Product details
The Hanwag Yukon Wide is a classic trekking boot with a leather lining and comfortable trekking last. The stiffness of the sole, the drop (how far the sole is rounded to allow good rolling) and the shaft construction determine how a model is positioned within the categories. You will therefore find categories A, B, C and D for each model. This gives you an idea of how stiff the shoe is.
D = very firm and fully crampon-compatible (step-in/automatic crampons).
C = firm and conditionally crampon-compatible (strap-on/semi-automatic crampons).
B = firm grip and solid but flexible sole for trekking and hiking.
A = soft, very good flexing structure.
Category B/C: The shoe is suitable for demanding hikes in low mountain ranges, even on poor trails.
Vibram Fuora: Durable trekking sole with medium-hard stiffening and braking studs.
