Product details

The low cut version of the Makra Pro GTX - the Makra Pro Low GTX - is a climbing shoe designed for challenging terrain. But what makes a good climbing shoe? Versatility is key. The Makra Pro Low GTX performs well on a variety of surfaces: from paved paths to forests and meadows, and even rocky fields. Comfort, stability, and flexibility play an important role. Its lightweight yet particularly stable midsole is made of PU and EVA: the oversized PU heel provides perfect cushioning, while a reinforcing PU foam wedge in the heel area supports an ideal rolling motion. EVA in the forefoot area ensures precision in the step, and the exclusive Vibram "Makra outsole" offers excellent grip. A characteristic of the Makra family is the optimized ghillie lacing that extends to the toe area, with laces threaded through textile loops. This design provides good support for the foot even in the front area and in a mid-cut model, ensuring stability in the shoe. Thanks to the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, feet stay dry even in unpredictable weather. The Perwanger leather is robust, breathable, and durable. A material combination that impresses across the board.

An asymmetrical, soft tongue ensures that the Hanwag fits perfectly. Easy-glide laces and the soft shaft increase comfort. The firm fit ensures sure-footedness and precision, especially on steep terrain, where it impresses when scrambling. Thanks to good cushioning, they are also comfortable on tarmac slopes (€ 260, pair weight: 960 g).

As is often the case with Hanwag, the Makra Pro also has an asymmetrical, soft tongue. This allows it to adapt even better to the foot, which is supported by the easy-glide lacing and the snug, softly padded shaft. The snug fit increases both surefootedness and precision, which pays off in tricky terrain and when scrambling - especially as the sole is edge-stable...
