The Hanwag shows how appearances can be deceptive, with a bulky design that contrasts with its supple appearance. Thanks to its high freedom of movement and not-so-rigid sole, it is very comfortable to wear, even if it is not quite as agile and precise as a Garmont or Scarpa. Product details
The Ferrata Tour GTX is a high-altitude mountaineering shoe that combines climbing performance with optimal walking comfort. Its multifunctionality makes it suitable for high-altitude tours in mixed terrain, as well as for simpler routes with glacier passages. The HANWAG TubeTec Rock sole technology is specifically designed for alpine climbing: soft PU inside a robust TPU shell ensures comfortable ascents and descents while providing outstanding performance on rock, ice, and snow. The "Tube" made of soft TPU protects the polyurethane responsible for excellent and long-lasting cushioning. At the same time, internal TPU ribs and reinforcements provide stability and precise guidance. The outsole impresses with its Vibram Integral Light profile design, reinforced heel front, and proven Vibram "Mont Compound" for excellent traction downhill. Additionally, the climbing zone of this semi-crampon-compatible model is reinforced with TPU, giving the sole perfect edge stability in the toe area. What else distinguishes the Ferrata Tour GTX? Its classic leather lower part ensures a perfect fit, while a stable yet flexible shaft made of particularly abrasion-resistant polyamide and polyurethane yarns allows necessary freedom of movement at the ankle for precise foot placement on rock. For high-altitude use, the toe area is specially insulated - GORE-TEX Duratherm provides maximum thermal insulation. An additional insole allows for volume adjustment and individual customization of the shoe. The Alpine Wide last also offers a slightly wider forefoot area for added comfort, without compromising climbing performance and precision in foot placement.
