Giro Merit Spherical

The Merit Spherical is a high-performance trail ride helmet, featuring the added safety of the MIPS Spherical technology safety system. The outer EPS helmet shell rotates a few millimeters around the inner helmet shell in the event of an impact to minimize the rotational forces generated by the impact. A deep protection zone and outstanding ventilation elevate the Merit to the highest level. The progressive inner and outer shells with different EPS foam densities also contribute to comprehensive protection. Wind tunnel vents combine with deep air channels in the EPS helmet shell to create amazing airflow, keeping heat out even on long, strenuous rides. A secure fit can be adjusted quickly and easily with the Roc Loc Trail Air adjustment system. The soft Ionic+ padding provides exceptional sweat absorption and has an antimicrobial effect. With all these features, it is the ideal choice for the demanding mountain biker, whether with or without electric assistance.

MIPS Spherical is the evolution of the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. Manufactured in the typical Giro design, the two layers of EPP foam in two degrees of hardness act as a kind of joint that can move a few millimeters in each direction, effectively reducing rotational energy at certain impact angles.
