Giro Merit Spherical

The Merit Spherical is a high-performance trail helmet equipped with the additional safety feature of the MIPS Spherical technology safety system. In the event of an impact, the outer EPS shell rotates a few millimeters around the inner shell to minimize the rotational forces generated by the impact. A deep protection zone and outstanding ventilation elevate the Merit to the highest level. The progressive inner and outer shells with varying EPS foam densities also contribute to comprehensive protection. Wind tunnel openings combine with deep air channels in the EPS shell to create remarkable airflow, keeping heat at bay even during long, strenuous rides. A secure fit can be quickly and easily adjusted with the Roc Loc Trail Air adjustment system. The soft Ionic+ padding offers exceptional sweat absorption and has an antimicrobial effect. With all these features, it is the ideal choice for the demanding mountain biker, whether with or without electric assistance.

MIPS Spherical is the evolution of the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. Manufactured in the typical Giro design, the two layers of EPP foam in two hardness levels act like a joint that can move a few millimeters in any direction, effectively reducing rotational energy at certain impact angles.
