Galfer Bike SHARK® brake disc

With the new and innovative Shark Disc®, Galfer brings the most perfect MTB brake disc of our time to the market. The innovative production process using a laser cutter achieves the optimal design for the best possible performance. One of the key unique features are the inner Shark Fins (cooling ribs), which give the disc its name: Shark Disc®. The interaction of the ribs with the many small holes in the disc reduces heat generation, while the outer wave design and side openings enable strong and consistent braking performance.

Increased braking power: The design of the Shark Disc® allows for braking with less pressure and therefore less effort, even under demanding conditions. This results in 5-10% more braking power under normal conditions.

More stability: Even under the most unfavorable temperature conditions (steep descents, high-speed sections, high outside temperatures, and heavy weight), the Shark Disc® maintains stable and consistent performance. The design is adapted to the different disc diameters to achieve the same stiffness in every case.

Reduced heat generation: The Shark Disc® significantly lowers the operating temperature compared to similar discs on the market by 30% and is made from a single piece to enhance performance.

Reduced pad wear: Under normal conditions, the lifespan of the pads is 25-40% longer.

Lower weight: The Shark Disc® is lighter than most high-end discs on the market, thanks to the optimized design of both the rotor and the hub.
