G-1000 is made from a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, which is waxed with a thin layer of Greenland wax. The wax provides the material with additional protection against dirt, wind, and moisture and can be easily applied thicker or washed out as needed. In addition to wind and weather protection, G-1000 also shields against harmful sun rays and annoying insect bites.
