Product details
Designed as an affordable entry-level to mid-range computer GoTo telescope, the NexStar SLT refractors, reflectors, and Maks are available in popular sizes and equipped with valuable design features. With pre-assembled, adjustable stainless steel tripod legs and quick-release fork arms and tubes, the NexStar SLT telescopes can be set up in minutes without any tools. You can observe details of the lunar surface, Venus and its phases, the polar caps on Mars, Jupiter with its four moons, Saturn with its distinctly visible rings, and much more. Most NexStar SLTs can also be used as terrestrial telescopes.
Smart design, powered by 8 AA batteries (user-provided) or an optional AC adapter, makes these NexStar GoTos travel-friendly. The internal battery compartment powers the high-precision servo motors for a sturdy, vibration-free performance while eliminating issues with cable tangling associated with external battery packs. With the ergonomically designed NexStar hand controller, users can remove the controller from its holder for remote operation or simply leave it in the holder for hands-free use. With the push of a button, you can select the object catalog, change the tracking speed, display fascinating information about an object, or simply find out if a desired object is visible in the sky.
Celestron's revolutionary SkyAlign allows you to simply enter the date, time, and location into the hand controller and then align the telescope to any three bright celestial objects. You don't need to know the names of the stars – you can even select the moon or bright planets.
