This jacket is all about the art of dressing just right for cool conditions. We're talking about those days when you need some protection from the chilly wind, but a winter coat would be overkill. If you're "overdressed," you'll sweat and freeze because your skin is damp. On the other hand, if you're "underdressed," you'll never be warm enough to enjoy the ride. The concept behind this jacket's design is quite simple: wind protection at the front, highly breathable materials at the back, and overall water-repellent in case of a few raindrops. But what makes this jacket spectacular is how Castelli has executed this straightforward concept. The wind protection comes from the GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER material, a lightweight 2-way stretch fabric that moves with you and is so light you can hardly feel it. This lightweight windproof layer is supported by a separate Pro Secco Strada inner layer with its own zipper, which can be independently opened for perfect ventilation control. The back is made from Nano Flex Xtra Dry material, which provides good insulation but has no membrane, allowing plenty of sweat to escape. The fit is close to the body, without any flapping. And finally, the little details make the difference: extra smooth YKK zippers, reflective drainage holes on the back pockets, and a flat silicone hip gripper.
